I’m pretty sure regular readers already know how much of a die-hard Paul Smith fan I am. But did I ever tell you that I still remember vividly the day I lost my Paul Smith shoes virginity? It was around 5.30PM on a sizzling afternoon back in July, 2011 when I entered the PS store on Fifth Avenue (NYC) confidently because I was very protected…by my first paycheck. I just graduated from college then. I came out with a portion of that check mercilessly slashed off but truly felt exhilaration all over my body. OK, too much sexual innuendo I’d better stop. Basically, what I want to say is I’m the proud owner of the stunning Paul Smith Suede Miller wingtip brogues because #1: they were heavily discounted at the time of purchase and #2: I didn’t see them anywhere since so I thought they were discontinued. Between you and me, I have to admit that the thought gave me quite some…perverse satisfaction. Don’t judge; most people would just feel the same.
Here is the shocker of the day: they are indeed still around as part of Paul Smith’s Original Dip Dyed Footwear collection and come in a color that is way more spectacular than mine (in tan). Dip dyed in rust with rust lace up closure and signature perforated detail and serrated edges throughout, these suede wingtip brogues are the ultimate knockout and capable of bringing the most basic outfit to a whole new level of effortless edginess. If you were to wear them, let them take center stage by donning something simple such as black slim-fit suits or dark skinny jeans, a light-colored jumper and black overcoat. You would then exude charming British rock’n’roll vibe, I guarantee.Ps Paul Smith Orange Dip Dyed Suede Miller Wingtip Brogues are available on SSENSE for $515. As a bonus, below is my beloved brogues in all their glory. I love mine to death, but in all seriousness they pale in comparison with the orange version. Click click click for a full-body pic. You’re welcome.
