Alexander McQueen Red Woven Stained Glass Loafers: Keep your dream alive

confused dasher, fashionable men loafers for fall winter 2013, ALEXANDER MCQUEEN RED WOVEN STAINED GLASS LOAFERSFirst of all, I love Alexander McQueen. I really, really do. To me, McQueen is fashion of a different calibre- one that truly transcends fashion and trends into arts. If you notice, there has never been any mention of McQueen in my wardrobe. And the reason for that is actually very simple: I can’t afford anything even when it’s on sales. Speaking of that, it strikes me that their sales are very discreet. You never get bombarded with sales alerts and all that jazz so you’re never really in the loop. Secondly, I love stained glasses, which can be attributed to my recent visit to the one-and-only Sainte-Chapelle in Paris. They are exquisite and intricate whose beauty will be of magnificent magnitude with the right amount of stimulus. Combine #1 with #2 and we have the breathtakingly gorgeous Alexander McQueen Fall/Winter 2013 collection, which is available for purchases in store and online at this point. Currently, my love for these red woven stained glass loafers is verging on fetish.

The shoes, made in textile fabric, feature unique woven stained glass pattern throughout in blue, red, green, orange and black and finish off with leather sole, which in turn lends them a dressy and sturdy look. Opt for a simple t-shirt or shirt underneath a streamlined blazer and a pair of dark-colored, slim-fitted jeans or trousers and let the shoes do most of the talking. Don’t complicate your outfit in this situation or you run the risk of drowning out the shoes’ excruciating beauty. Their price tag makes me feel sick to my stomach, though. Available on SSENSE for $895, Alexander Mcqueen Red Woven Stained Glass Loafers is catered to deep-pocketed shoe addicts only. For the rest of us, let keep dreaming because one day the late namesake designer will smile upon us from heaven and bestow us with things McQueen.

I share your love of these shoes, for almost the exact same reasons you state. A few weeks ago I stumbled across a pair on sale at Neiman Marcus/Bergdorf Goodman online for $300 (which is still more than I will usually pay for shoes)! So now I am the happy owner of a pair. Unfortunately, outside here is cold and snowy, and I don’t want to ruin them. I also don’t like to project the image that I mince about in my apartment wearing shoes no one else will ever see. So for now, they stay safely in the box, awaiting spring. It gives me time to think about what I can wear with them. They are really stunning.
