1. It makes you feel more positive and comfortable with yourself.
2. It makes others think more positively about you.
Or at least THIS article on the NYTimes the other day was trying to convey. Ever since I started taking outfit pictures about half a year ago, I’ve gained a whole new level of respect for models. Seriously, who ever said that modeling is easy needs some serious reality check. Their natural good looks and body absolutely help quite a lot, but if they didn’t know how to WERQ in front of the camera, how well would they fare? Anyway, back to my story. So, I’ve been pretty obsessed with learning how to pose lately because my pose is often hit and miss. LOL, now you get to see the real bane of my existence. I’m spending an inordinate amount of time reading random articles, looking at models’ pictures and watching youtube videos on the pretext that it’s part of the package for any fashion blogger. I learned a few random tricks, among which the most predominant is to tilt your head slightly since it supposedly accentuates your jaw line or something. I sorted through my photo archive and oh god, had a huge epiphany. Like my all-time favorite picture is the one in which I tilted my head a bit.
But when it comes to posing like a mannequin, we gotta give it to my favorite woman. She’s the living proof that posing, just like anything else in life, takes 10,000 hours of practice in order to master it. HAHA.
OK, back to my posing lessons. Have a nice day, my readers!!!
