New York Fashion Week started last Tuesday, but the menswear shows are far and few in between compared to those of womenswear. I still follow each and every single show religiously, though. The New York shows are certainly very different from the shows in London, Milan and Paris earlier this year, many of which to be perfectly honest don’t impress me that much. That being said, there are a few pretty outstanding ones. Below are my personal picks.
Tommy Hilfiger: Tommy seems to be swapping his quintessential American preppy style for that British sharp tailoring and bold plaids. The coats are to-die-for, don’t you think?
Lacoste: The Parisian vibe is coming off so strong in this collection. Oh, I just remember that Lacoste is a French brand. The colors of this collection are very beautiful. The thorny question is how come I rarely see this type of clothes when I visit Lacoste stores?
Kenneth Cole: Kenneth Cole didn’t show a runaway collection for 7 years. So, there was a lot of buzz around his comeback. And I think he’s certainly delivered. A collection that is both manly and stylish. I really need to lay my hands on the bomber jacket in look #2.
